HR10-7P-4P(73) — 4-Position Push-Pull Plug for Cable Harnesses
The Hirose HR10-7P-4P(73) is a 4-position male plug from the HR10 series of circular push-pull connectors. Mating is a straight push to engage and a pull on the knurled body to release — no threaded coupling or bayonet lock. This is the 4-circuit variant of the HR10 series, shell size 7, sharing the same 0.205" (5.20 mm) cable opening and backshell/clamp hardware as the 6-position sibling.
Electrical Ratings and Contact Plating
Each brass contact is rated 2 A, with a voltage rating of 150 VAC and 200 VDC. The 2 A per contact is a signal-level current — this connector is sized for control circuits, sensor feedback, or low-power device interconnect, not for a main power rail. The voltage split between AC and DC is typical for industrial control panels where both supplies are present. For high-cycle field-service applications (hundreds of mates), the thin gold flash may wear through to the brass base, increasing contact resistance over time.
Termination is solder cup — each pin has a cup that accepts a stripped wire end, soldered in place. The backshell and clamp secure the cable jacket, providing strain relief. The cable opening is 0.205" (5.20 mm), which accommodates cables with an outer diameter up to about 5.2 mm. The mating half is the HR10 series receptacle — the 4-position female socket version (HR10-7P-4S(73)) for a cable-to-cable connection, or the 4-position male receptacle (HR10-7R-4P(73)) for a bulkhead-mounted panel connection. The push-pull latch engages with an audible click; there is no secondary locking mechanism.
