What This Dust Cover Fits and Why It Matters
The Hirose HR10-7R-C is a black dust cap for the HR10 series, shell size 7. It protects unmated receptacles with 4 to 6 positions from debris, oil mist, and shop-floor contamination — the kind of grit that frets gold-plated contacts and causes intermittent opens in a control cabinet. The cap comes in Bulk packaging and includes a strap with ring so it stays tethered to the cable or panel, not lost under the workbench.
Which Receptacles It Protects
This cap is specific to shell size 7 receptacles in the HR10 series, covering the 4, 5, and 6 position variants. It does not fit shell size 10 receptacles (10-12 positions) — that cap is the HR10-10R-C. If you are capping a 20-position HR10A receptacle, the cap is the HR10A-13R-C. The shell size is cast into the cap; match it to the receptacle's shell size marking before ordering.
