Connector Identity and Field Fit
The Hirose HR10A-10P-12S(73) is a 12-position plug with female sockets, part of the HR10A series of push-pull circular connectors.
This plug mates with the HR10A-10J-12S(73) jack — the direct receptacle half with the same 12-position count and shell size 10. The push-pull fastening locks the pair without threads; the backshell and strain relief clamp secure the cable exit, preventing pull-out at the solder joint. The keyed orientation prevents mis-mating, which matters when multiple HR10A connectors share a panel.
Contact Plating — Silver vs. Gold
The sibling HR10A-10P-12S(74) swaps to gold plating at 8.00 µin (0.203 µm), which is the better choice for corrosive atmospheres or applications requiring very low contact resistance over many cycles. For a clean, indoor industrial harness, the thick silver of the (73) is the cost-effective pick; for field service in humid or chemical-laden air, the gold (74) is the safer call.
Electrical Ratings and Termination
The solder cup termination accepts stripped wire directly; the backshell clamp grips the cable jacket, so the solder joint sees no strain. The unshielded shell means it relies on the cable's own shielding if EMI protection is needed.
