Plating Variant — Silver vs Gold
The HR10A-7P-6S(73) uses silver mating contacts (78.7 µin). The sibling HR10A-7P-6S(74) is identical in every other spec — same 6 positions, 2 A rating, push-pull lock, backshell — but swaps the silver plating for gold (8.00 µin). The choice between them comes down to the mating environment: silver gives lower contact resistance on first mate and is cost-effective for clean, dry indoor use; gold is the better call for corrosive atmospheres or applications requiring more than a few hundred mate-unmate cycles. If your BOM calls for the (74) suffix and you're considering the (73) as a substitute, confirm the plating duty matches your service life requirement.
