10-Position Shielded Receptacle for Panel-Mount Signal Interconnects
The Hirose HR12-10RD-10SDL(71) is a 10-position shielded receptacle with female sockets, part of the HR12 series of circular push-pull connectors. It carries gold-plated mating contacts (8.00µin over phosphor bronze) and is rated for 100VAC / 140VDC. The snap-in fastening and keyed orientation prevent mismating in multi-connector assemblies. The shielded shell (polybutylene terephthalate with a metal coating) provides EMI containment for signal lines in industrial control cabinets, test equipment, or medical devices where radiated noise must stay below the equipment limit. A ground terminal ties the shield to the PCB ground plane, completing the low-impedance drain path. The operating temperature range of -15°C to 60°C covers typical indoor environments but not extended outdoor or engine-compartment duty.
Position Count and Shielding vs. Unshielded Siblings
The 10-position HR12-10RD-10SDL(71) is the shielded, gold-contact variant in the HR12 family. Compared to the 8-position HR12-10RC-8SDL(71) (tin-plated, unshielded), this part adds the board lock and ground features and uses gold on the mating surface instead of tin. The 5-position HR12-10R-5SD(71) is a bulkhead-mount version with tin contacts and a thicker gold flash on the mating side (118.1µin vs. 8.00µin), but it lacks the board lock and the shield — the extra gold thickness there is for high-cycle mating in a non-shielded application, not for EMI performance.
