6-Position Sealed Jack for Wet Environments
The Hirose HR30-6JA-6P(71) is a 6-position power jack with male pins from the HR30 series, designed for applications where moisture ingress is the primary reliability risk. Rated IP67/IP68 — dust-tight and waterproof to continuous immersion — this connector carries a push-pull locking mechanism and a keyed orientation to prevent mismating. The black PPS shell and PBT backshell provide the flame rating (UL94 V-0) needed for equipment inside enclosures, while the gold-plated brass contacts (8.00 µin mating finish) handle the 2 A per circuit at up to 100 VAC or 140 VDC.
IP67/IP68 — The Rating That Decides the Fit
The IP67/IP68 ingress protection is the headline spec on this part. It means the mated assembly survives dust immersion and continuous submersion — the seal is at the mating interface, not the cable entry, so the backshell and strain relief (0.138" to 0.169" cable opening) must be properly assembled to maintain the rating. This is not a connector for high-current bus bars; the 2 A per circuit and 100 VAC / 140 VDC limits place it firmly in signal-level power or sensor interconnect duty for marine, medical, and industrial equipment where washdown or outdoor exposure is routine.
Solder Cup Termination — Field-Terminal Friendly
Termination is solder cup, not crimp — each of the 6 male pins gets a hand-soldered wire connection inside the backshell. The keyed orientation and backshell with strain relief mean the cable exit angle is fixed; the 0.138" to 0.169" (3.50 mm to 4.30 mm) cable opening range determines the maximum jacket diameter that fits through the backshell before soldering.
