Sealed 12-Position Female Jack for Harsh Environments
The Hirose HR30-8J-12S(71) is a 12-position female jack (female sockets) from the HR30 series of push-pull circular connectors. It is designed for free-hanging (in-line) cable termination using solder cups, with an integrated backshell and strain relief that accepts cable diameters from 0.244" to 0.276" (6.20 mm to 7.00 mm). The connector carries an IP67/IP68 ingress protection rating — dust-tight and waterproof — making it suited for industrial, marine, and medical equipment where washdown or temporary immersion is expected.
Mating and Cable Assembly Fit
This jack mates with the HR30-8P-12P(71) plug, which carries male pins in the same 12-position (power) arrangement. Termination is solder cup, so the cable assembly requires soldering each contact individually; the integrated backshell and strain relief clamp onto the cable jacket after termination. The keyed orientation prevents mis-mating, and the gold-plated contacts (8.00 µ" on the mating side) are rated for repeated connection cycles in corrosive or humid environments.
Electrical Ratings and Operating Limits
Each of the 12 power contacts is rated 2 A, with a voltage rating of 30 VAC or 42 VDC. This is a low-voltage, moderate-current connector — typical for sensor power, signal lines, and low-power DC distribution in control cabinets, marine electronics, and medical devices. The 2 A per-contact rating is conservative for the contact size; derating above 85°C should follow the manufacturer's curve.
