12-position power receptacle for sealed panel-mount harnesses
The Hirose HR30-8R-12S(31) is a 12-position (Power) receptacle with female sockets, part of the HR30 series of push-pull, IP67/IP68-rated circular connectors. It is designed for panel-mount applications in industrial, marine, and medical equipment where a dust-tight, waterproof seal is required at the bulkhead. The 2 A per contact rating and 30 VAC / 42 VDC voltage ceiling suit it for low-voltage DC power and signal distribution in sealed harnesses.
IP67/IP68 — sealed only when the push-pull is fully engaged
The IP67/IP68 ingress protection rating applies to the mated pair — the O-ring seals at the bulkhead face and the push-pull locking mechanism must be fully engaged for the seal to hold. An unmated receptacle sitting on the panel is not sealed; cap the open half if the connector will be left unmated between shifts or in washdown environments.
Solder cup termination — wire-to-connector assembly at the bench
Termination is solder cup — each contact has a cup that accepts stripped wire for hand-soldering. There is no crimp terminal or insertion/removal tooling; the wire is soldered directly into the cup, then the contact assembly is inserted into the PPS insert. The rear side nut mounts the receptacle to the panel bulkhead, and the keyed orientation prevents mis-mating with the plug half.

Cross-shop: HR30-8J-12S(71) — same contacts, adds backshell and strain relief
For harness assemblies that require a backshell with strain relief, the HR30-8J-12S(71) is the functional alternative. It shares the same 12-position (Power) layout, 2 A current rating, gold-plated contacts, and IP67 rating, but adds a backshell and accepts cable diameters from 0.244" to 0.276" (6.20 mm to 7.00 mm). The HR30-8R-12S(31) is a panel-mount receptacle without those features — choose the -8J variant when the cable exit needs mechanical support and sealing at the rear of the plug.
