The Hirose HRM-101(09) is an SMA plug, male pin, designed for use with RG-402 (.141" semi-rigid) cable. This is the field-installable solder-termination version; the kit includes the connector body, coupling nut, gasket, and spring washer — four pieces total.
Cable Fit and Termination
This plug is built specifically for RG-402 (.141" semi-rigid) cable — the centre conductor and dielectric dimensions match the interface. Termination is solder for both the centre contact and the shield, which is the standard method for semi-rigid cable: strip, tin, and solder the centre pin, then solder the braid or outer conductor to the connector body.
Mating Cycles and Contact Plating
Rated for 1000 mating cycles — that is high for a threaded SMA, which typically sees 500 cycles. The gold plating on the centre contact and the gold body finish keep contact resistance low over repeated connects and disconnects. The brass centre contact material provides good conductivity and solderability.
