Panel-Mount Sealed Receptacle with Male Pins
The Hirose LF10WBR-12P is a 12-position circular receptacle with male pins — an uncommon gender arrangement where the pin contacts sit inside the receptacle shell rather than on a plug. Part of the LF series, this connector mates with the corresponding female socket connector (LF10WBRB-12S) via a bayonet lock that provides quick coupling with vibration resistance. The zinc alloy shell carries a nickel finish and mounts through a bulkhead using the rear-side nut, securing the connector from inside the panel. Rated IP67 and IP68 when mated, the connector is dust-tight and submersible, making it suitable for industrial and telecommunications applications where moisture ingress is a concern.
Solder Cup Termination for Field Wiring
Each of the 12 copper alloy contacts terminates via solder cup — a field-service-friendly method that requires only a soldering iron, not a crimp tool. The per-contact current rating of 2A at a 30VAC or 42VDC voltage limit positions this connector for signal-level circuits rather than power distribution.
Mating Half and Panel Installation
The mating connector for the LF10WBR-12P is the LF10WBRB-12S — a 12-position receptacle with female sockets, gold-plated contacts, and the same IP67 rating. The keyed orientation prevents mismating in multi-connector panels. Both connectors use the same shell size 10 and bayonet lock interface. The panel cutout diameter is standard for shell size 10 in the LF series.
Position Variant Comparison
Within the same LF10WBR shell size, the 12-position LF10WBR-12P carries 2A per contact at 30VAC/42VDC, while the 4-position LF10WBR-4P in the same shell size delivers 10A per contact at 125VAC/DC. The higher circuit density of the 12-position variant limits per-contact current due to thermal constraints within the same shell envelope — a tradeoff worth noting when selecting between circuit count and power capacity.
The PPS insert is rated UL94 V-0 for flammability.
