50 Ohm MMCX Plug for RG-178B, Right-Angle, 6 GHz
The Hirose MMCX-LP-178B/U(40) is a 50 Ohm MMCX plug, male pin, pre-configured for RG-178B coax. It's a right-angle, free-hanging (in-line) connector with a snap-on fastening, crimp shield termination, and a solder contact.
The 6 GHz frequency ceiling means it's good for applications like Wi-Fi (2.4/5 GHz), cellular bands, GPS, and general-purpose RF test leads. Push past 6 GHz and the VSWR climbs; stay within the band and the snap-on interface holds a repeatable connection.
This plug is built for RG-178B coax — a thin 30 AWG solid or stranded center conductor cable with a 1.8 mm OD. The shield is crimped, the center conductor is soldered. The right-angle body keeps the cable routed close to the board or panel face, which matters in tight enclosures where a straight plug would bend the coax too sharply.
