RF interconnect — MMCX snap-on plug, right-angle, 50 Ohm
The Hirose MMCX-LP-FHSB(40) is an MMCX-series plug with a male pin centre contact, designed for snap-on mating in coaxial RF signal paths. It carries a 50 Ohm characteristic impedance and is rated to 6 GHz maximum frequency — the impedance and bandwidth together define the usable signal envelope for this connector. The right-angle, free-hanging (in-line) body orientation allows the cable to exit perpendicular to the mating axis, which helps route the coax in tight chassis spaces where a straight plug would interfere with adjacent components. The centre contact is phosphor bronze with gold plating, and the brass body carries a gold finish — the gold-over-brass shell provides corrosion resistance and consistent surface conductivity for the snap-on interface. The snap-on fastening provides a quick, positive lock without requiring a coupling nut, which saves space and assembly time.
The snap-on fastening engages with a spring-loaded outer sleeve on the jack; no threading or bayonet action is required. The right-angle body means the cable exits at 90° to the connector axis, so plan the cable bend radius and strain relief accordingly.
