96-Position DIN 41612 Receptacle, Style C Keying, 0.100" Pitch
The Hirose PCN13-96S-2.54DSA(71) is a 96-position DIN 41612 receptacle with Style C keying, designed for backplane and card-edge interconnect in industrial and telecom equipment.
Style C Keying and 3-Row Layout
Style C keying means the receptacle mates only with a Style C male header — the polarisation key prevents inserting a Style B or unkeyed plug into the wrong backplane slot. The 3-row, 96-position arrangement matches the full DIN 41612 Type C pin field; all 96 positions are loaded, so the board trace count must match the full complement.
2 A Signal-Level Current and Gold Contacts
Derate the per-contact current when more than a few circuits are powered simultaneously, as the 96-position density limits heat dissipation through the PBT housing.
Through-hole solder tails provide a mechanically robust connection to the PCB — the leads anchor the connector against the insertion and extraction forces of repeated card mating.
