75 Ohm Coaxial Plug for 1.5C Cable
The Hirose PL71-LP-1.5C(41) is a 75 Ohm coaxial plug, male pin, from the PL71 series. It is designed for use with 1.5C-2V and 1.5C-QEV.CW cable groups, making it a direct fit for video, broadcast, and CATV signal paths where 75 Ohm impedance is standard. The right-angle free-hanging body allows the cable to exit at 90 degrees to the mating axis, useful in space-constrained enclosures or panel-mount applications where a straight plug would interfere with adjacent components.
Frequency and Signal Path
Rated to 2 GHz maximum frequency, this plug covers baseband video, SDI, and CATV distribution without issue. The 75 Ohm impedance is the defining parameter — this is not a 50 Ohm connector, so it must be paired with 75 Ohm cable and mating receptacles to maintain return loss through the link. The snap-on fastening gives a quick, positive lock without threads, which speeds field assembly but means the connector is not torque-rated for high-vibration environments.
The centre contact is soldered; the shield is crimped. The cable group is specified as 1.5C-2V and 1.5C-QEV.CW, so the plug body and crimp ferrule are sized for that outer diameter. Using a different cable diameter risks poor shield contact or mechanical instability.
Brass body with nickel finish, silver housing colour. Single-port, 1-position design.
