10-Position Single-Row Plug for Discrete Wire
The Hirose ST40-10S-CVR(30) is a 10-position plug from the ST series, built for terminating discrete 28-30 AWG wires in a free-hanging (in-line) configuration.
Cable termination is solder — each wire is soldered directly to the male pin contact inside the plug body. That means no crimp tool, no die set, no terminal inventory; a soldering iron and a steady hand are the whole kit. The trade-off is that each connection takes more bench time than a crimp, and rework means desoldering. Wire gauge is specified for 28-30 AWG discrete strands, so the wire bundle stays flexible and the solder joint doesn't wick too much heat into the insulation.
