What This Adapter Bridges
The Hirose TNC(R)J-U.FLJ-WBPA(40) is a between-series adapter that converts a TNC jack, female socket interface to a U.FL (UMCC) jack, male pin interface. It lets you route a 50 Ohm signal path from a bulkhead-mounted TNC port into the miniature U.FL connector used on compact RF modules, GPS receivers, and Wi-Fi radio boards.
Bandwidth and Signal Path
Rated to 6 GHz at 50 Ohms, this adapter covers the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi bands, the GPS band at 1.575 GHz, and most sub-6 GHz cellular and ISM allocations. The 6 GHz ceiling means it is not specced for the full FR2 mmWave range, but it handles the common sub-6 GHz 5G bands without a problem.
Mechanical Fit and Mating Duty
The TNC side uses a threaded coupling for a vibration-resistant, weatherproof mate — standard for antenna ports and test equipment. The U.FL side uses a snap-on fastening, which is the quick-connect interface on the module board. That cycle count suits test jigs, development boards, and field-swappable antenna connections where the adapter sees repeated connect-disconnect cycles.
The bulkhead mount with lockwasher and nut means you fix the adapter to a panel, then route the U.FL cable to the board — no soldering at the adapter itself.
