Mounting and Termination — Dual-Process Flexibility
The receptacle supports both surface-mount and through-hole solder termination, giving the board layout engineer flexibility to match existing reflow or wave-solder assembly lines. The vertical mounting orientation places the USB port perpendicular to the PCB edge. Pick-and-place compatible packaging (tray) supports automated assembly.
USB 2.0 Specification — Not Compatible with USB 3.0
Rated to USB 2.0 specifications, this connector supports data rates up to 480 Mbps. It is not compatible with USB 3.0 signaling — the micro B 3.0 receptacle uses a different contact arrangement with additional pins. The 5-contact layout follows the standard USB 2.0 micro B pinout (VBUS, D-, D+, ID, GND).
