What it is
The JST B9PS-VH(LF)(SN) is the right-angle through-hole member of the VH family — a single-row 9-circuit board-to-wire header at 3.96 mm pitch, rated 10 A per circuit at 250 V, with tin-plated brass contacts on both the mating face and the solder tail.
Contact plating and what it means for the application
Tin on both the mating interface and the solder tail gives reliable conductivity at the rated 10 A, but tin-plated contacts are optimised for wire-to-board power and signal interconnects rather than high-cycle data connections — the locking ramp on the shroud takes the mechanical load of repeated mating, not the contact finish. At 10 A per circuit the current ceiling is set by the contact beam, not the pitch, so power distribution within a harness panel is well within scope for this rating.
Housing and panel-side fit
The single-wall shroud and locking ramp mate with the standard VH plug housing — the shroud walls guide the plug home and the ramp locks it in place, so in a panel wiring box the connector stays seated under vibration without a secondary fastener. The PA66 insulator carries a UL94 V-0 flammability rating, which is the standard requirement for equipment enclosures in industrial automation panels. Operating range is -25°C to 85°C — adequate for most enclosed panel environments but not for equipment with sustained high ambient temperatures. The natural-colour insulator is standard; no keying variant is listed, so polarisation relies on the shroud geometry and the locking ramp alone.
