4-Position XSR Receptacle for 36 AWG IDC Harnesses
The JST 04XSR-36S is a 4-circuit receptacle from the XSR series, terminated via IDC to 36 AWG discrete wire. The 0.60 mm pitch packs four contacts into a body roughly 2.4 mm wide — sized for the tightest wire-to-board or inline cable splices in miniature electronics. Tin-plated female sockets accept the matching XSR header pins; the closed-end housing with integral strain relief protects the IDC slot from cable flex and prevents adjacent wire stubbing.
What the 0.60 mm Pitch and IDC Termination Mean for Assembly
At 0.60 mm pitch, the wire-to-wire spacing is about half that of a standard 1.25 mm connector. That forces the use of 36 AWG wire — anything thicker won't fit the IDC slot or the cable strain relief channel. No separate terminal to load, but the cable must be round, solid or fine-stranded, and the insulation diameter must match the slot geometry. The closed end means the connector body is fully walled at the rear — no open slot where a stray wire could short against an adjacent circuit.
