The JST 09ZR-8M-P is a 9-position receptacle from the ZR series, designed for mass-termination of discrete 28 AWG wire via its IDC (Insulation Displacement Contact) termination. The 0.059" (1.50mm) pitch matches the ZR series pin header footprint, keeping the board-side layout tight for space-constrained designs. Tin-plated female sockets give a reliable connection for moderate-cycle applications, and the green housing provides quick visual identification on the harness.
This receptacle uses IDC termination, which punches the 28 AWG conductor through the insulation and into the contact slot in one press operation. That means faster harness assembly than crimping individual terminals, and no loose contacts to fumble with on the line. The free-hanging (in-line) mounting lets the connector sit anywhere along the wire bundle, not just at a panel or board edge.
