IDC socket for 10-conductor ribbon at 0.079" pitch
The JST 10KR-D6S-P is a 10-position IDC socket in the KRD series, built for mass-termination to 26 AWG discrete wire or ribbon cable at a 0.079" (2.00mm) pitch. The pitch has to match the ribbon conductor spacing — 2.00 mm centre-to-centre — or the IDC tines will bite between conductors instead of onto them. Tin-plated female contacts, single row, free-hanging right-angle orientation. Natural colour housing, bulk packaged.
Wire it up — 26 AWG only, IDC press
This socket terminates via IDC — no crimp, no solder. The cable is pressed onto the tines, which slice through the insulation and grip the conductor. 26 AWG is the listed wire gauge; the IDC slot is sized for that specific diameter, so don't swap in 24 or 28 AWG without verifying fit.
Mating half and pin-one
The mating connector is a KRD series header (male pins) at the same 0.079" pitch, 10 positions. Watch pin-one every press — the housing is keyed, but the IDC termination is blind until the ribbon is seated.
