The natural nylon housing carries a closed end, which means the wire can't push through the back of the connector and short against a panel or another assembly. Tin contacts are standard for this class; they handle the duty cycle of a consumer or office-equipment interconnect where reconnection is infrequent.
Wiring and Termination — What Works
This connector is specced for 30 AWG discrete wire only. The IDC termination requires a bench press or hand tool.
The 11SR-3S is the 11-position sibling in the same SR series, sharing the same 0.039" (1.00mm) pitch, IDC termination, 30 AWG wire spec, and tin contact finish. If your BOM calls for 10 positions, the 10SR-3S is the match; the 11SR-3S is a different part number and won't fit an 11-position header into a 10-position footprint.
