13-Position IDC Receptacle for Tight-Pitch Harnesses
The JST 13SR-3S is a 13-position receptacle from the SR series, built for discrete wire harnesses where board space is tight. Termination is IDC, so you skip the crimp terminal and punch the wire directly into the slot. That saves a part number and a tooling step on the assembly line, but the slot is sized for 30 AWG only — no range, no fudging the wire gauge.
Tin contacts are standard for IDC applications where the connector mates once and stays put; the tin surface wipes clean on insertion and the IDC slot cold-welds to the wire. The closed-end feature means the housing is solid at the back — no wire pass-through, which keeps the termination point clean and the wire entry aligned.
Mating Half and Wire Prep
The free-hanging body clips into the header's locking ramp. Wire prep is straightforward: strip the 30 AWG wire to the length specified in the JST SR series application drawing, lay it into the slot, and press with a hand or pneumatic IDC tool. No crimp die change, no terminal inventory to manage.
