What this 3-position 2 mm header does that a plain pin strip can't
The 4-wall shroud and locking ramp mean the mating PA receptacle clicks in and stays put under vibration — a plain unshrouded pin header won't give you that mechanical lock. The tin-plated copper alloy contacts are good for moderate mating cycles — think appliance control boards, HVAC panels, or industrial sensor interfaces.
Three stack heights, one footprint — clearance flexibility without a PCB change
The B03B-PASK supports three mated stacking heights: 9.9 mm, 14.7 mm, and 14.9 mm. That means the same board layout can accommodate different enclosure depths or cover clearances by swapping the mating receptacle housing, not the header. Compare with the 5-position B05B-PASK: same pitch, same current rating, same locking ramp, same stack heights. If your BOM needs a 5-position header, the B05B-PASK is a drop-in replacement for the footprint, just wider.
Active production, but watch the RoHS status
Critical compliance note: this part is RoHS non-compliant. If your assembly requires RoHS, you'll need to check for a lead-free variant or secure an exemption.
