The housing is molded from UL94 V-0 rated PA66 (Nylon 6/6), which meets the flammability requirement for equipment inside an enclosure. The contacts are brass with tin finish. Note that this part is RoHS non-compliant, which is a critical consideration for any BOM destined for markets with RoHS restrictions.
Against the B5P-VH-B, the only difference is color — the -B suffix denotes a black housing versus the natural (uncolored) PA66 of the B5P-VH. Functionally, they are identical: same pitch, current, voltage, and footprint. The B5PS-VH is the right-angle version of the same 5-position header, used when the board edge requires a parallel-to-PCB orientation. For one more circuit, the B6P-VH offers 6 positions at the same 3.96 mm pitch and 10 A rating, which is the natural choice if the harness requires an additional power line.
