JST B7PS-VH VH Series Header – 7-Position, 3.96 mm Pitch, Right-Angle Through-Hole
The JST B7PS-VH is a 7-position, single-row header from the VH series, designed for board-to-cable/wire interconnects. It uses a 0.156" (3.96 mm) pitch, which is the standard spacing for this series and sets the PCB footprint layout. The header is through-hole mounted with a right-angle orientation, making it a natural fit for wire-to-board connections at the edge of a board where the cable exits parallel to the PCB surface. Rated at 10 A per circuit and 250 V, this header carries enough current for power distribution within an enclosure — think a power supply feeding a load board, or a control panel wiring harness. The tin-plated contacts on both the mating and post sides are standard for this class; tin is a solid, cost-effective choice for applications where the connector isn't mated and unmated repeatedly. The locking ramp on the housing provides a positive latch against the mating receptacle, which keeps the connection from walking loose under vibration or cable tug. The housing is molded from UL94 V-0 rated nylon 6/6, natural color, with a single-wall shroud that guides the mating plug into alignment. Operating temperature range is -25°C to 85°C, covering most indoor industrial and consumer equipment environments.
Mating and Termination
This header mates with the matching JST VH series receptacle housing, which accepts crimp terminals for wire sizes typical of the 10 A rating. The locking ramp on the header engages with the latch on the receptacle housing for a secure, audible lock. Termination is solder — the through-hole posts are 0.142" (3.60 mm) long, suitable for standard PCB thicknesses.
