This plug accepts 24 AWG wire, either discrete conductors or ribbon cable. The 0.100" pitch matches standard 0.100" IDC ribbon cable, so the cable lays into the slot without fan-out. The closed end guides the cable square to the contacts, reducing skew that can cause open circuits on the end positions.
