Plating and Mating Cycles — Tin vs Gold Trade-off
The 0022288091: Cost-effective for one-time or occasional disconnect, but not for field-service connectors that see quarterly unplugging. The unshrouded design means no plastic shroud guides the mating half — alignment depends on the housing key or visual cue. Mates with standard KK254 crimp receptacle housings (series 6471 or 2695) using 0.100" pitch female terminals.
Active lifecycle status — no end-of-life or last-time-buy risk for current builds. ROHS3 compliant. The KK254 series is Molex-specific; a board spin would be required to substitute a different brand header.
