The single-wall shroud provides partial pin protection while keeping the connector profile low. The brass square pins are rated for repeated mating cycles typical in field-service equipment.
The 14 positions occupy about 2.2 inches of board edge length. The post length of 0.212" (5.38mm) is standard for through-hole soldering on 1.6mm thick PCBs.
Mating and Locking: Friction Lock vs. Full Shroud
The single-wall shroud with friction lock mates with standard KK396 crimp housings (series 41672 or equivalent). The shroud covers one side of the pins; the opposite side is open, so orientation during assembly matters — the open side faces the board edge.
The insulation colour is black, standard for the KK396 series.
