16-circuit Mini-Fit Jr receptacle — contacts sold separately
The Molex 0039012165 is a 16-circuit receptacle housing from the Mini-Fit Jr 5557 series, the workhorse wire-to-board power interconnect family used in ATX power supplies, automotive harnesses, and industrial control cabinets. The latch lock on each end provides an audible click when fully mated — the primary retention against vibration in a harness assembly. This is a housing only — the female socket crimp terminals are ordered separately.
What it mates with and how it terminates
This receptacle housing mates with the Mini-Fit Jr 4.20mm pitch pin headers — the standard through-hole or SMT headers in the 5566/5569 series. The latch lock engages with the header's locking ramp; the pair stays mated under vibration without a secondary screw or clip. Termination is crimp-style: the terminals are inserted into the housing cavities after crimping onto the wire, and the housing's internal tangs hold each terminal in place. The free-hanging (in-line) mount means this housing sits on the wire harness side, not on the PCB.
