18-Circuit Plug Housing for Free-Hanging Wire Harnesses
The Molex 0039013183 is an 18-circuit plug housing from the Mini-Fit Jr 5559 series, designed for free-hanging (in-line) wire-to-wire or wire-to-board harness assemblies. It uses a 0.165" (4.20mm) pitch with an identical 0.165" (4.20mm) row spacing across two rows, giving the harness builder a standard grid for crimp-and-poke terminal insertion. The housing is moulded in natural polyamide (PA66) and carries a locking ramp on the mating face — the ramp engages with the matching receptacle housing to hold the pair together under vibration without a secondary latch. Contacts are not included with this housing; you order the male pin terminals separately (Molex 5556 series) and crimp them onto the wire before inserting into the cavity.
What It Mates With and What Terminals to Order
This plug housing accepts the Mini-Fit Jr male crimp terminals (Molex 5556 series, 20–24 AWG) and mates with the Mini-Fit Jr 5557 receptacle housing. The locking ramp on the plug snaps into the matching window on the receptacle — you'll hear the click when fully seated. Because the housing ships without contacts, the BOM line for this order code covers only the plastic body; the terminal part number and the wire gauge must be specified separately for the full crimp assembly.
