The 0039290243: This is a Molex Mini-Fit Jr 5566 series board-to-wire header, 24 positions loaded in a dual-row 4.20mm pitch. The contact mating surface carries 30µin gold over nickel, rated for repeated mating cycles well beyond what tin-plated connectors tolerate. In a telecom or industrial panel where the connector sees quarterly disconnect for maintenance, that gold layer supports hundreds of cycles without fretting corrosion at the interface.
Termination is solder through-hole — the 0.138-inch (3.50mm) post length provides enough standoff for the solder fillet on a standard 1.6mm PCB. The 4.20mm pitch leaves comfortable routing space between vias for power and signal traces up to the current ceiling of the Mini-Fit Jr contact system.
Mating Half and Wire-Side Compatibility
This header mates with the Mini-Fit Jr 5557 series receptacle housing, which accepts the 5556 crimp terminals for 16-24 AWG wire. For higher vibration environments, a TPA (terminal position assurance) retainer can be added to the receptacle to prevent backed-out contacts.
