Sealed 8-Position Housing for Harsh Environments
What the Sealing and CPA Mean for the Assembly
The 'Sealed' feature and Connector Position Assurance (CPA) are what set this housing apart from a standard unsealed MX64 shell. The seal keeps contaminants out of the contact cavity, making this housing suited for underhood automotive, outdoor industrial controls, and washdown-area harnesses. The CPA is a secondary lock that slides over the primary latch — it prevents the connector from accidentally un-mating if the harness is snagged or vibrated, and it gives the line worker a visual and tactile check that the housing is fully mated before the harness leaves the build station.
The MX64 series typically accepts 18-22 AWG wire, though the exact wire range depends on the chosen terminal part number.
