The free-hanging (in-line) mount and latch holder fastening make it a straight pull-to-seat assembly, typical for branch circuits in a vehicle body harness or a sensor pigtail.
The CPA latch is the secondary lock: after the primary latch hooks, the CPA slides over it and holds it closed. In a vehicle door or engine bay harness, this prevents the connector from backing off when the harness is flexed during installation or service. The single-row 4-position layout keeps the connector body small — about the width of a finger — so it fits into a junction box or a tight cavity behind a headlamp.
