Board Layout and Stack-Up Fit
The Molex 0465562745 is the 80-position male plug in the SEARAY 46556 series, a high-density array connector built for parallel board-to-board mezzanine stacking. The 0.050" (1.27mm) pitch across four rows packs 80 circuits into a footprint that routes easily between layers on a standard PCB — the fine pitch keeps the board real estate tight, but the 4-row grid gives each signal a predictable via pattern. The connector stands 0.421" (10.70mm) above the board, and the mated stack height can be set to any of five values — 12mm, 13mm, 13.5mm, 14.5mm, or 15mm — by choosing the matching SEARAY receptacle with the corresponding height. That range lets the board stack-up designer tune the spacing between boards without changing the plug footprint or the BOM position count. Gold at this thickness resists corrosion and maintains stable contact resistance through repeated insertions — it is not a cost-reduced flash coating.
This is the plug (male) half of the SEARAY 46556 mezzanine pair. It mates with the SEARAY receptacle (female) of the same position count and the desired mated stack height — the receptacle order code will specify the board-to-board spacing. Termination is surface-mount only; the connector has no through-hole tails, so the board layout must include SMT pads and a solder paste stencil that matches the 4-row 0.050" grid. The integrated board guide aligns the connector during pick-and-place and keeps the solder joints from taking shear stress during mating.
