What this plug does in a mezzanine stack
The Molex 0537480808 is the 80-circuit plug half of the SlimStack 53748 board-to-board mezzanine connector system. It mates with the matching 53748 receptacle to create a 3 mm mated stack height, which sets the board spacing in a parallel-PCB assembly.
The 0.50 mm pitch forces tight trace routing between pads — the PCB designer must account for the breakout channel width and via keep-out. Surface-mount termination with outer shroud contacts means the plug self-centers during reflow, but the footprint land pattern must match the Molex recommended layout to avoid solder bridging.
