60-Position Mezzanine Plug on 0.50 mm Pitch
The 0.020" (0.50mm) pitch packs 60 positions into two rows, which means the board footprint is dense enough that routing the inner-row signals out often requires micro-vias or a dog-bone fanout pattern — a layout consideration to flag before the board spins. Solder retention tabs on the SMT tails anchor the connector against shear from cable strain or thermal cycling, a useful feature given there are no through-hole posts to take the mechanical load.
The 1.60 mm height above board and 2 mm mated stack height set the z-budget for the board pair. The SMT tails are on a 0.50 mm grid, so the PCB land pattern must match the Molex recommended footprint (available in the product drawing) to avoid solder bridging between adjacent pads.
This plug mates with the SlimStack 55650 receptacle (female socket housing) of the same position count and pitch — the 60-circuit receptacle carries the matching 0.50 mm pitch and 2 mm stack height. Both halves are SMT-only; no through-hole variant exists in this series. The solder retention feature on the plug side helps hold alignment during reflow, but the receptacle side should also be reviewed for its own retention features if the assembly sees vibration.
