Power-class header for high-current board-to-wire connections
The Molex 1720420202 is a 2-position male blade header from the Super Sabre 172042 series, designed for power distribution where each circuit carries bus-level current. Silver-plated copper contacts at 100.0 µ" thickness handle repeated high-current mating without the galling risk of tin at these amperages. The liquid crystal polymer (LCP) glass-filled housing holds dimensional stability through wave solder and sees little creep under continuous thermal cycling.
30 A per circuit is not a signal-level rating — each blade is sized to carry main DC rail current or high-power AC. The silver contact finish, rather than gold or tin, is chosen for this duty: silver has lower bulk resistivity than tin and better high-current cycle life than gold flash. The 100.0 µ" thickness is heavy enough to survive dozens of mate-unmate cycles at full current without wearing through to the copper base.
Through-hole solder termination on 0.295" (7.50 mm) centers; the board lock posts are integral to the solder tails and require no separate hardware.
