D-Sub Combo Receptacle for Mixed-Signal and Power Interconnects
The Molex 1727040014 is a D-Sub combo receptacle in the 172704 series, housing 13 positions arranged as 10 signal contacts plus 3 coax or power contacts in a DB-size shell (layout 3 (DB, B) - 13C3, 13W3). It accepts female sockets (contacts not included) terminated via solder cup and mounts to a panel using the unthreaded housing/shell flange.
5A per Contact — Signal-Grade Current, Not Bus-Level Power
For the three coax/power positions, the actual current capacity depends on the contact style installed — the 5A rating applies to the signal contacts; the coax/power cavities can accept higher-rated contacts depending on the insert.
Panel Mount with Solder Cup Termination
Panel mounted via the unthreaded housing/shell flange — the receptacle is secured with screws through the flange into the panel or mating plug. Solder cup termination means wires are tinned and soldered directly into the cup on each contact, a field-serviceable method that avoids crimp tooling. Accepts 20 AWG wire.
