Sealed D-Sub for Harsh Environments
The Molex 1731100010 is a 9-position plug from the FCT 173110 series, a D-sub style connector built for environments where standard D-subs fail. The operating range of -25°C to 70°C reflects the seal compound limits, not the contact system. The solder cup termination accepts 20 AWG wire, and the shell includes grounding indents for shield continuity before signal pins engage.
Shell Layout and Mating Half
This plug uses the standard DE (E) shell size — the same footprint as a DE-9, with 2 rows of contacts. Mates with any standard DE-size D-sub receptacle, but for the IP67 seal to hold, the mating half must also be IP67-rated and the pair must be fully mated with the locking hardware engaged.
