USB-C Receptacle for High-Speed Data and Power
The 2024100002 is a USB-C (USB TYPE-C) receptacle from the 202410 series, packing 24 contacts in a reversible, shielded shell. It carries the USB 3.2 Gen 2 specification, which means 10 Gbps data lanes alongside a 6A per contact current rating — that's enough for a 60 W power delivery profile on a single connector, or higher with the right cable and PD controller. Rated for 10000 mating cycles with gold-plated contacts, this one is built for the connect/disconnect duty of a front-panel or docking station port, not a one-time internal harness. Termination is a hybrid: surface-mount pads for the signal pins plus through-hole right-angle posts for the shield legs, giving the mechanical anchor that keeps the shell from lifting during cable plug/unplug cycles. The Pick and Place feature and Tape & Reel packaging mean it feeds straight into an SMT line without hand-placing.
Rated for the Elements and the Production Line
Waterproof ingress protection is listed — the connector seals against moisture at the panel face, which makes it a candidate for outdoor kiosks, marine electronics, or any enclosure that sees condensation or hose-down cleaning. The 6A per contact current rating is per-pin, so the total power the connector can handle depends on how many VBUS and GND pins the application uses — a standard USB-C PD configuration uses four VBUS and four GND pins, giving a theoretical 24 A aggregate on the power rail before derating.
