Board-to-Board Mezzanine Plug for Tight Z-Height Budgets
The Molex 2167000409 is a 40-circuit plug from the SlimStack 216700 series, designed as the top half of a board-to-board mezzanine connection. It uses a 0.014" (0.35mm) pitch dual-row layout with center strip contacts, and the mated stacking height lands at 0.6mm — that 0.6mm gap between boards is the z-height budget this connector consumes. The gold-plated contacts (3.94µ" finish) are specified for signal duty where repeated mating cycles and corrosion resistance matter.
What the 0.35mm Pitch and 0.6mm Stack Height Mean for the Layout
The 0.35mm pitch is the tightest common mezzanine spacing in the SlimStack family — it forces a finer PCB trace-and-space than a 0.40mm or 0.50mm pitch sibling would. The 0.6mm mated stack height is the full board-to-board gap; the plug itself sits 0.022" (0.57mm) above its own board. That leaves about 0.03mm of clearance between the plug body and the mating receptacle's board, so the stack height is essentially the plug height plus the receptacle height. If the board stack-up has any stiffener or component on the inner faces, that 0.6mm gap disappears fast.
