Board-to-Board Plug for Tight Stacking
The 0.35 mm pitch and 0.6 mm mated stacking height make it suited for compact handheld devices, wearables, and other portable electronics where every tenth of a millimeter counts. Outer shroud contacts protect the signal pins during mating and provide mechanical alignment between the two PCBs.
What the 0.35 mm Pitch and 0.6 mm Stack Mean for Layout
The 0.35 mm pitch is the tightest constraint on the board footprint — trace routing between pads requires a fine-line PCB capability, and the 0.6 mm mated stack height means the two boards sit very close together, leaving little room for components on the inner faces. This is a pure mezzanine interconnect, not a wire-to-board or cable application. The dual-row, 40-position layout packs a lot of signal density into a small board area, which is the whole point of the SlimStack series.
It is a surface-mount component, so it goes through the same SMT line as the rest of the board.
Mating Receptacle and Stacking Height
When specifying the pair, confirm that the receptacle order code matches the 40-circuit, 0.35 mm pitch configuration.
