USB-C Receptacle for USB 2.0 — 10000 Mating Cycles
The Molex 2171750001 is a USB-C (USB TYPE-C) receptacle from the 217175 series, wired for USB 2.0 operation. It carries 24 contacts arranged as 6 signal plus 18 dummy positions — the dummy contacts handle mechanical retention and ground, while the six active pins carry the USB 2.0 differential pair, power, and configuration channel. Rated 3 A at 30 VAC/DC, this is the standard current envelope for a USB-C charging and data port. The gold-plated contacts and shielded steel/stainless shell give it the corrosion and EMI protection needed for repeated field mating.

Rated for 10000 mating cycles.
Mounting and Termination — Right-Angle SMD with Through-Hole Option
This receptacle mounts surface-mount, right-angle, with an additional through-hole anchor for mechanical stability. The SMD pads handle the signal and power connections; the through-hole posts take the insertion and extraction shear off the solder joints. The horizontal orientation places the USB-C port parallel to the board edge — standard for a board-edge I/O cutout. The solder termination is reflow-compatible; the through-hole anchor can be wave-soldered on the same pass or hand-soldered during rework.
ROHS3 compliant, with no restricted substances under the current EU directive.
