USB 2.0 vs USB 3.x — What This Connector Handles
This receptacle is rated USB 2.0, which means the high-speed differential pair is present but the SuperSpeed (SS) lanes are not wired through. The 24-contact USB-C footprint is there, but the internal routing is for USB 2.0 signaling only. If your design requires USB 3.0 data rates (5 Gbps) or USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gbps), you need a USB 3.x rated receptacle — the 2171780001 will physically mate but won't pass the higher-speed signals.
