36-Circuit iGrid Receptacle Housing — What It Is and What It Needs
The Molex 5016463600 is a 36-circuit receptacle housing from the iGrid 501646 series, built for free-hanging wire-to-board or wire-to-wire harness assemblies. It carries a 2.00 mm pitch across two rows, with the same 2.00 mm row spacing, giving a compact 36-position layout that fits the iGrid footprint standard. The latch lock on each side of the housing provides positive retention when mated with the corresponding iGrid header — an audible click confirms full engagement, and the lock resists vibration-induced separation in mobile or machine-mounted applications.
Contacts Are a Separate Line Item
The housing ships without contacts — the spec note is explicit: Contacts Not Included. The 36 female socket cavities accept the iGrid 501646-series crimp terminals (order separately), which are terminated to the wire before insertion. This is standard for a crimp-and-poke assembly process: the terminal is crimped onto the stripped wire end, then inserted into the housing cavity until the retention lance locks. The housing's natural colour is the factory default for the PA66 material; no colour-coding for keying is present on this variant.
