SlimStack 501745 — 40-Position Board-to-Board Plug
What the Gold Plating Tells You About Duty
That's adequate for a few mating cycles in a one-time assembly or a low-service product, but it won't survive repeated field disconnect without the gold wearing through to the base metal, which raises contact resistance. For a connector that stays mated for the life of the product, this plating grade is fine; for a service port or reworkable interconnect, you'd want thicker gold.
Solder Retention for Reflow Stability
On a 40-position part at 0.40mm pitch, those retention points matter: the fine-pitch leads alone don't provide much mechanical grip during soldering, and a tombstoned or shifted connector is a board-level failure.
