The 1.50 mm pitch is tighter than the common 2.00 mm or 2.54 mm wire-to-board families, so the housing saves board real estate while still allowing 20-28 AWG wire termination. The dual-row arrangement puts 12 circuits in a roughly 10 mm by 6 mm footprint — compact enough for dense harness routing in a PDU or infotainment module. The latch lock is the primary retention; it clicks into the mating header's ramp and resists un-mating from cable pull or machine vibration without needing a secondary screw or bolt.
The matching crimp terminals are the 503150 series contacts — order those separately since the housing ships empty. The crimp termination allows field-repairable wire replacement: cut the old terminal, re-strip, re-crimp, and re-insert into the housing.
