0.40 mm Pitch, 16-Position SlimStack Plug for Tight Stacking
With a 0.016" (0.40mm) pitch across two rows and a mated stacking height of 0.7mm, this connector targets ultra-thin portable devices, wearable electronics, and compact sensor modules where every tenth of a millimeter of z-height matters. The 0.57 mm height above board (0.022") and 0.7 mm mated stack height together define the z-budget for the enclosure: a 0.7 mm gap between the two PCBs when mated.
Solder Retention and Surface-Mount Termination
This plug is surface-mount only, terminated by reflow soldering. The solder retention feature — integral pads on the connector body — anchors the part during reflow and provides additional shear resistance after soldering, which matters when the mated assembly sees handling or vibration in a portable device. No through-hole posts; the hold-down is purely SMT. The plug mates with the matching SlimStack receptacle (same 0.40 mm pitch, same 16 positions); the outer shroud on the plug aligns with the receptacle's inner shroud for blind-mate guidance.
