20-position 0.50 mm pitch ZIF FFC connector — bottom contact, right-angle SMT
The Molex 5051102096 is a 20-position FFC/FPC connector from the Easy-On FD19 505110 series, with a 0.020" (0.50 mm) pitch. It uses a zero-insertion-force (ZIF) flip-lock actuator that secures the cable without force, and the contacts are on the bottom side — meaning the FPC must be inserted with the contact pads facing down. A flipped cable shorts the wrong row and can damage the socket. The housing is beige LCP, UL94 V-0 rated, and the actuator is black glass-filled nylon.
Cable thickness and end geometry — 0.30 mm, tabbed and tapered
This connector accepts FFC or FPC cables that are 0.30 mm thick with tabbed, tapered ends. The cable end shape and thickness are non-negotiable: a standard 0.30 mm FPC with straight ends will not insert or lock correctly. The flip-lock actuator clamps the cable against the bottom contacts, so the contact pads must face downward.
